Finally starting with our last phase of GANGOTRI GAUMUKH TREK from LAL BABA ASHRAM, BHOJWASA, at dawn : We are right in middle of Bhojwasa valley, at an altitude of 3775 m - 12,300 feet, 4 Kms from Gaumukh, final stage of our GANGOTRI GAUMUKH TREK, viewing full Bhojwasa valley;
Far in horizon, at the end of valley, are located magnificent BHAGIRATHI PEAKS - 1,2&3 under thick formation of clouds, with golden glow in the surrounding sky. That's where is located GAUMUKH, the snout of 30 kms long BHAGIRATHI GLACIER, ultimate aim to reach for us. Right in front of us, in the middle of valley is visible LALBABA ASHRAM, where we stayed overnight during our Trek.
Beginning our GANGOTRI GAUMUKH TREK, and the whole Trek is blessed with treasure of great amount of Natural beauty and experiencing Subzero temperatures;
I have done this Trek twice, once in the beginning of winters and again in mid summer. My buddies were ( during winter) my wife NEETA, Friends HITESH, DESAI FAMILY :MUKULBHAI, BHARGAVI BEN, Torsha, our guide Mahesh ji, ( during summer) Amrish, VIPUL.
GANGOTRI DHAM, starting point for My approx. 38-40 Kms GANGOTRI - GAUMUKH TREK : Bhagirathi river meandering through the valley, coming down from GAUMUKH- GANGOTRI and making it's way towards HARIDWAR, High Himalayan snow peaks start becoming visible above. This is the first stage for Trek, reaching GANGOTRI by road, the base for the TREK traveling almost 300 Kms, from HARIDWAR.
Gaumukh is 18 km from Gangotri in the foot hills of Bhagirathi at a height of4255m. It is the snout of the 30 Kms long Gangotri Glacier.
Ishavasyam Ashram, is high above the opposite bank of BHAGIRATHI RIVER, crossing over that bridge, where I generally stay with my friends and family during visit to GANGOTRI DHAM.
